Understanding Depression in Youths

November 20 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

Although we tend to associate low mood and other mental health concerns with adults, children and youth can experience mental illnesses like depression. The purpose of this workshop is to challenge misconceptions, help people to recognize the symptoms of depression and to learn strategies for supporting children and youth who experience low mood. At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the causes and types of depression
  • Understand the impact of depressive behaviours, thoughts, and emotions
  • Apply strategies to reduce levels of sadness and to increase feelings of happiness and hope
  • Engage in supportive conversation

This event is being held online from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on November 20th, 2024. The online event will be facilitated by Zoom. To attend, please RSVP below. If you have any questions, please contact us by clicking here.
